After a long night at the airport we landed safely this afternoon in the subtropic Singapore. After the immigration was done and the luggage was picked up (this time all luggage arrived with us), we went with the subway to our hostel, which is close to Chinatown. The bed-situation was sorted out and we tried to cool us down with some water. Before we went to the Hindu tempel Sri Mariamman around the corner. Then we headed to “Little India”. There we ate and enjoyed a typical Indian drinking-coconut or a delicious mango lassi.

Then we walked a bit through “Little India” to get an idea of this multicultural city. Unfortunately, we have found out that the famous Sultan Mosque, which is near this district, is being renovated from the outside. So we went ahead and agreed to visit the waterfront at Riverside. This promenade is full of bars and restaurants, offering live music. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the promenade with a beer and made way to end our first night in Singapore.
